Green Pants

"Green Pants"
9x12 acrylic on canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Day 22 of 365 days

This is my submission to Lee Brown's challenge at A Day Not Wasted. His photograph, which is much wider, shows a scene on a Dublin Street. It has 2 men in the foreground having a conversation - in fact, that is Lee's name for the photo.

But, as usual, I'm always looking for the "other" scene - the one in the background. And this one has it! This woman, with her wonderful green pants, is walking her bicycle along the walkway. With the warm tones of the bricks, wood & barrels as a backdrop, I could not resist painting this woman. And in making her pants sort of the star of the scene!

This painting took a few days to finish, and I only put the brush down a few moments ago (and picked up the camera). I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

You have a good eye Nan. Like the girl and her green pants as focal point. Your crop also highlights the barrels and building which are wonderful. Really nice work.

Absolutely one of your finest. I love all the interest of the brick shops and the girl's green pants instantly caught my eye. I love the composition and your skills are boundless, Nancie!
