The Red Scorpon
This months Virtual Paintout is in Romania. A very interesting place to explore, and I spent much time roaming around the country. So much variety to paint, but as usual, I wanted something with color. This scene caught my eye - the original link in google can be found here.
The red front where the name stands (it also says Fast Food in black letters above the name) along with the reddish roof really stood out for me with the blues of the sky, the shadows and the phone booth. I love that phone booth! Even the graffiti on the phone booth was in blue! And I loved the play of the shadows that were being cast by the tree. I even added the hint of the 2 people walking in front of the shop. This was a fun little painting to do.

Don't you love it that so many places have signs in English. I really like the composition, as well as the shadows and lights which you did such a nice job with. The vibrant colors just sparkle.
Très belle composition et la lumière qui la baigne est sublime.
bisous
Hi Nancie, that's a great painting! Wonderful color and composition.
It feels like you could step into that phone booth, so many favorite parts in this painting.
Somehow I missed this the other day, Nancie. Please forgive me. I roll down my blog list on the front of my blog and usually click on the new pics. If there is no photo that comes up, I usually don't miss them either but still, I apparently did this time. Sigh...
At any rate, I honestly think this is one of my favorites of your pieces. This is very well done and I love the composition. I can see why you chose it!
Terrific, Nancy. I really like all the white in the painting. It really makes the colors pop! I'm very impressed by the way the cropped the photo. Excellent!
Interesting painting.
I do love The Virtual Paintout too.
