Ménage à trois

A threesome of Lilies, painted in a mauve color palette. (I must be going through a mauve phase!)

I love lilies. I have so many of them planted in the yard, with colors ranging from white, to red, red with orange throats, and bright oranges. Even a pink tiger lily form as well. Some are solid in color, others are variegated. These are a most amazing plant. Every spring I see dozens (tens of dozens) of these plants for sale at the local nursery. They seem quite content to return every year, no matter how cold a winter we have, and to bloom with splendid grandeur. And when the peonies have ended, and the garden lacks color, these lilies start their show. And as each one blooms at a slightly different time, the range of color lasts for quite a long time.

This is my submission to the Wet Canvas Floral challenge for February.

Oh so pretty, Nancie! I remember always loving those orange tiger lilies that bloom wild her in IL. And I must say, I still love your morning glory piece (it is in the thumbnails below your post).

Beautiful painting, Nancie, done in your signature style. I had to click over to see the challenge photo. You did a great job with it.

Lovely lilies. I'm glad you're painting again. I'm happy with the flowers in my own garden, but a touch envious of your lilies and peonies.

Oh, Nancy! I am so glad you are painting. I always was stunned at the number of challenges you completed and did so well.

But only do it if it is an inspiring prompt. IF YOU WANT TO! I have a poetry blog, creative writing, etc., and I skip around as my interest sees fit. You are so good, so talented and please don't loose the desire to paint. You really bring joy and beauty to this world. You have a very unique way of painting which I enjoy.

Hope to see you posting and having fun. Do a challenge and if you don't meet the deadline, post it anyway ... in your own time. (I am still going to do that Wilderness Challenge bear ... just on my own time!)

Cheers, Margaret

J'aime beaucoup l'atmosphère de tes peintures, particulièrement "lilies" et son dégradé de couleurs. J'ai trouvé ta prestation pour "Coffee jar" excellente, toujours avec ce travail de couleur en profondeur.
