Did this today for the Windows to the Words blog, which I found from one of the side panels on Autumn Leaves blog. Thanks again Sherry for helping me to find more art challenges & inspiration!
The May theme is butterflies and 4 beautiful reference images were posted. I loved the pastel color on the White Admiral. This is done in a semi-abstract mode (which I've been doing quite a bit lately).

Oh Nancie! This is so lovely!! And speaking of challenges, Behind the Scenes blog on my side bar blog roll is doing a challenge due June 1st. I just saw it yesterday and am thinking of giving it a whirl...
Nice work Nancie.
Nancie, your delightful and colorful butterfly is resting his wings...posted and linked over at Windows to the Words. Thanks so much for participating.
Thank you all for your kind comments. Thank you James for this wonderful challenge this month & those great references you gave us to work with.
Sherry - I did check out the Behind the Scenes blog - ooooooh, that challenge seems a bit difficult. I have never really worked with glass & reflections like this. It's interesting - just not sure if I can get something done by 6/1 - we'll see. Thanks for the suggestion.
Wow, I love your style, Nancie. I love your use of color and how you made the background so interesting. Beautifully done.
Thank you Pat, I appreciate your kind words!
