I'm still looking at doing more small paintings and I have quite a few older ones on sale at DPW. Head over & take a look if you're interested.
In keeping with my "loose painting challenge" to myself, this piece was painted with every attempt to keep it loose. I admit, I had trouble with it. I still reach for the small brush to add the details. So this one is a mix - some loose & some detailed. I'm thinking I really can't paint in the loose style because I don't see the subject that way.
I think I'll try something larger again. It might be easier to do loose work on a larger scale.

I have the same problem, so I’m no expert. What I have found is to come back another day with a giant brush or palette knife and fuzz the tight edges. Works best with gels to givea bit of texture.
