Rose Water Droplets

"Rose Water Droplets"
9x12 acrylic on canvas board
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This was originally painted for a challenge and I wanted to experiment with doing water droplets. They are unique little items, which seem difficult until you learn the technique to them. Where did I learn the technique? YouTube - I find so many answers to my painting questions by simply searching on youTube. There are videos on techniques for flowers, shadows, skies, clouds, and even water droplets.  The key to these little items is to bet the light spots correct with where the light source is coming from. After I made a few I started making them all over, against different colors (they pick up & magnify the color they sit on) and also in varying sizes. But I was careful not to overdue them (I think) - there is such a thing as getting carried away!

I also love the colors of this rose - lots of fun blending them.

Really beautiful, Nancie. I love how the background allows this rose to stand on its own.
