The Sentinel

"The Sentinel"
9x12 acrylic on canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

I know for a fact that dogs love boats. Our dog, a long-haired doxie, can't wait to go for a boat ride in the summer. He's the first one down on the dock & then on the boat. He jumps up onto the front-most seat and gets himself in position to go. If we take too long to launch, he will give us the look of "come on, let's go!" And then, while we are cruising, he's got himself propped up on the seat with his ears flying in the breeze. He's a happy puppy for sure. (my 16 year old puppy, doesn't jump up any longer but looks to us to pick him up & place him in his spot on the boat!)

This painting was featured in the 2013 Paws for Charity book, something I like to do every year. I donate 1 (or more) dog or cat image to the Paws for Charity book. Sales from the book are given to an animal shelter in Canada. It's amazing how many animal lovers are artists!

I love when dogs are on boats. They always do indeed look happy. A wonderful painting and I love hearing about your fur babies and your efforts for this wonderful charity.
