Left to Rust

"Left to Rust"
9x12 acrylic on canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This was a painting I did a bit ago for a challenge. This is definitely out of the box for me. I spent quite a bit of time working on the rust elements - trying to give the look of rust but still have a small amount of reflection. There is also some glass in this and, of course, the meadow leaves & flowers that are now surrounding the vehicle.

A nice challenge and I enjoyed working on something so different than my usual subjects. It's too easy to stay with what you know. It becomes a sort of security thing - to just do what you know. But the artist doesn't learn that way, and I am always learning. On this one, I had to stop (often) to think about how I wanted it to look, and then make decisions on how to create the look. Always learning!

Bravo !
Gros bisous à vous.

Thank you & Mercí The rust on this was difficult, but as you say, we learn!
