White Daisy on Blue

"White Daisy on Blue"
5x7 acrylic on canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Previously painted in 2013,
this painting is now on a 1-week auction at DPW
at a very affordable starting bid!

Day 3 of 365 days has me still looking at flowers. I recently read about a friends birthday party and I remembered that daisies were the flowers at her wedding. And I then remembered that I have 2 of these smallish paintings on panels. 5x7, these are small enough to simply lean against the wall on a shelf. Easy to add a bit of sunshine & smiles anywhere! (I will be posting the second 5x7 daisy tomorrow. And if things go as I envision, there will be a third to this series happening too).

These flowers always make people smile. Maybe it recalls the old rhyme "he loves me, he loves me not" - or it's their lovely white petals. Or it could be that wonderful mounded, textured center that explodes with a yellow that reminds us of the sun (which now gives me an idea for my Sun Art this year). In the 60s, girls wore daisy's in their hair. Or carried informal bouquets of this happy little flower. It's a beautifully simple flower that can mean so much, and can easily create a feeling of happiness. I have to admit that simply holding these make me smile.

This painting is up for auction at DPW at a very modest price. I will combine shipping if more than 1 daisy is purchased or won at auction.
