Autumn Bench

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Previously painted in 2011,
this painting is now on a 1-week auction at DPW
at a very affordable starting bid!

I am getting into an Autumn mood - love this time of year. The colors of the leaves, the brisk air, the blue-blue skies. The smell of wood burning in the air as people begin to add heat with a fire in their wood stove. And also, the pullovers, the fleeces, the extra sweaters. This is probably my most favorite season!

And who could resist the temptation of a bench, sitting amongst the leaves, beckoning you to sit a spell, maybe sketch a bit in your sketchbook, shoot a few photos with your camera, or simply sit and take in the world around you. Love those moments when you wander alone within the quiet spots in the woods, don't you?

But then again, I'm not sure we are truly alone ... the elves are always quietly watching!

gros bisous

My favorite time of year too, Nancie. I did this same piece in black and white (and shades of gray) and was just looking at it yesterday for a bit. Definitely invites one to sit a spell with a book or to just enjoy the day.
