Charleston Entryway - SOLD

6x12 Acrylic on Canvas Board
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This month, Virtual Paintout is visiting Charleston SC. What a quaint area! Lots of beautiful homes & tree lined streets to paint. I'm sure I'll be doing at least 1 more of the area for the VPO. This simple home is on Percy street - and the original link can be seen here.

One thing I have always noticed with the Google views, it's often hard to get the viewpoint you may want on a building or street. It can make it quite challenging to try & get the focal point you want. That was the case with this house. It was the entryway, and the porch above it, that made me want to paint this. It was a vertical scene so I opted for the 6x12 format done vertically.

I think I'm in love with this 6x12 size. I just think it gives such a different perspective on things - sort of a slice of life. Hmmm, this may turn into a series ... a "slice of life" series. I like that!

What a beautiful place and I am so glad you captured the slice you were looking for, Nancie.

Hello Nan:) I love your painting. The fact you did just a part of the house makes it very interesting. Great job!
