30 in 30 Days - Day 4 - Snow on Cabin & Pine

Acrylic on 8x10 canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This has a sort of Christmas Card feel to it - wasn't what I intended when I started, but works on the finished piece. I have also switched to an 8x10 size (rather than my usual 9x12) - I thought it might be helpful for this challenge.

I love how snow sticks onto tree branches & the boughs of the pine tree. Fun to paint also, using the blues again for shadows & shading. Red buildings sort of pop in a winter landscape - their color such stark contrast.

Oh I do so love that dark red house in the distance. A perfect addition to this snowy scene!
