It was quite a few years ago that my husband stood on our frozen lake and took this morning sunrise shot of the leaning pine trees. As I recall, it was bitter cold that morning (7 degrees comes to mind), and the air was very clear & crisp. The pines had been there for numerous years, but the high waters in the Spring had eroded away much of the dirt around their roots. A year after he took the photo, the pines fell and are now gone - no indication as to where they had been. Mother Nature always takes back what belongs the earth. I don't know if I did this moment justice.
This is part of my 30 day challenge - although not "white" exactly, the frozen snow-covered lake was quite blue from the cold light that was there. The warm yellow rays of the sun just could not warm the air enough - the temperature remained below 10 degrees that day.

What a beautiful memory, Nancie. I don't know that I could ever brave standing on a frozen lake. You painted this scene beautifully and with your words, I can almost feel the bite in the air.
It was a cold morning, for sure. It weren't out there very long, that's for sure.
