Desert Sunset

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

My DPW submission for this weeks challenge "The Sky's the Challenge." We were to paint, making the sky our focal point. Jill Bates, in charge of this challenge, said "be brave with color!" So I went bold! What do you think? Red sky at night, sailor's delight! .... even in the desert!

Un ciel époustouflant comme on peu en voir en cette saison...

I think the sky is brilliant and I couldn't take my eyes from it. Focal point indeed. And I've seen just such skies, both in the morning sunrise and the evening sunset.

Hi Nan, love the bold colors in the sky and the mts. as well. I've been gone all summer and am just catching up on old friends work and lives. Great interview on DPW's too.
