All Things Read - SOLD

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Just changed the title of this - couldn't resist a little play with words. This is my 2nd submission to the VPO Thailand challenge this month. I just fell in love with this newsstand when I found it. All that red with a wide assortment of items & papers -- well it screamed out "paint me!" I'll be back with the original Google link here as soon as I can pick it up off the computer.

You will see a busy background of office buildings, but I didn't want them in there - I didn't want anything to compete with the newsstand for attention. So I left most of them out - but kept the trees, they added depth & shade.

I love Thailand - exploring the streets offers so much visual stimulation. The plants, colors, busy signs - there is so much energy everywhere. Nothing seems to be dull or bland. I think it's an artists paradise. If you haven't tried exploring yet, I recommend it!

Hah! Funny to read your words on this one, Nancie. I love this little red stand too and figured the owner painted it red to make it pop from its bucolic background. Funny to know it is actually in the city! LOL Love your artistic license on it.
