Yellow Coneflower

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

I am not certain that this is actually a yellow coneflower, as I've only seen them in purple in my area. But the shape & style of the flower reminds me of the shape & style of the coneflower. Painted in March of 2010, this painting was a learning experience for me. Highlights on the left, and darker values on the right - showing the light source from the upper left. Not terribly strong light, but still noticeable. All against a dark green background that has touches of blue scrumbled in. I wonder what a purple version of this flower would look like - that may be on the list of things to do next!

Une fleur qui tourne bien et j'aime l'ensemble du dessin parfait des pétales qui en fait une fleur très délicate.
Gros bisous
