Secret Garden

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Previously done in May 2010, this was done for a Calypso challenge. You can read the original post here.

I still love to walk within the woods, following a simple path that winds it's way among the trees. Everywhere you look, you will see ferns growing. Their lush green forming a carpet on the feet of the forest, while the trees stretch up to get to the sunlight. I try to imagine what this land was like, long ago before civilization. When roads were really just dirt paths that led from place to place - the more often they were travelled, the deeper the ruts became in the dirt. And everywhere was similar to the forest I walk in, with plants growing where nature decided to set root. This is where I love to go, a retreat - both visually & mentally. A place to replenish the soul.

And as I said before, and I can attest to ..... if you are very, very quiet in the woods - you may even catch a glimpse of an elf or two!
