Rendition Tree

Acrylic on 6x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This was a quick, fun little painting done for the Rendition Me This blog/challenge. Dana Marie, who hosts the challenge, has one of her beautiful wearable art pendants as this months inspiration. And I was so taken with her design, that my rendition follows it a bit close.

The purple tree trunk & branches with swirls along with the multi-color circles for the tree foliage was very much inspired by the original. I chose to make the background more of a wash of the green & cyan colors - then used gold ink to insert the assorted lines in it. The original format was a square, but I wanted to elongate the tree - so I opted for the 6 x 12 inch canvas sheet.

This is so out of the norm for me, and I love being able to stretch in different directions some times. This blog/challenge is still in it's infancy stage, so head on over, get inspired, and let the paint flow. I think it'll make you happy!
