Lemons with Red Flower

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Originally done in October of 2010, this still life was a challenge for the Paint & Draw blog. Loved reducing this to only shapes & lines, as a way of "simplifying" things.

This image was also used, with permission, in the "Love From Me" project book of 2011. For those not familiar with the project, click here for a link to the website and preview it. The book can be ordered through the web and it has multiple artists work throughout it. As per the website: "All funds raised from this project are donated to The Rose Fund, c/o the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada. This is a registered charity to help cancer patients who are facing financial difficulty as a result of dealing with their cancer treatments."

A new project is ongoing now for 2012 through the same website, "Paws for charity". Photos & artwork of dogs & cats donated by various artists for a book. Proceeds will be donated to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter.
