I just read, with my heart in my throat, the news of Carol & David Marine's recent loss. For any of you that do not know, their home & most of their possessions were lost to fire in Texas. Due to recent drought conditions, much of the area where they live was overrun by the recent fires in Texas. The house, her studio, their work - all reduced to ashes. Fortunately, no one was hurt or injured, but they had little time to collect things before they were forced to leave.

There is a link on that blog to make a donation to help them back on their feet. There was also a bit of discussion in the DPW forum about someone putting together an auction of paintings, with proceeds to go to the Marine's rebuilding of their lives. Ironically, the Marine's had just put together a DPW auction to help benefit the children of Africa. If an auction for the Marine's is posted, I will re-post the info here.
The thought of losing everything is overwhelming, and I wish nothing but the best for these 2 people who have given so much to the art community. May God bless.
