I searched around Fairbanks Alaska, this months VPO location, looking for some color. I found some in a field and it became my subject for my first submission. You know me, I can't pass up a scene that is "green" - plus add some color in! Some blues with lilacs & purples in the field, with the light hitting the trees. Here's the original link in Google - as you can see, I made a few changes with the trees. And I enhanced the colors that I saw.
Alaska is an interesting location to tour. You can travel a road for a while, and it's trees with more trees. But a short distance down things will change - a house or two, or a vehicle. Travel a bit further and a community of houses appears. Then a short distance further, and it's all trees again. I couldn't help but wonder what those streets & locations would look like in the middle of winter!

Nancie, this is awesome! I love your choice and you've painted a beautiful landscape from that Google location.
Nancie I always love your submission to the Virtual paintout. You manage to find some wonderful location.
Gotta love that artistic license Nancie. You've definitely improved on the spot. I really like your variety of greens and your little punches of blues and lilacs.
You always do such a great job on these challenges! Lovely light on the trees and meadow!
Been on the road, and just returned -when I saw your lovely painting it reminded me so much of the many pretty scenes I have visited. Love the wildflowers, especially. Nice work Nan.
Missing you on the other challenge but this is great. The trees came out great. Have tried the search at VPO and know it's tedious to find such a lovely scene. You certainly enhanced this scene and got the full potential. Nice.
