Colorado Highway 83

This is Lee's latest challenge over at A Day Not Wasted. A beautiful scene he captured in Colorado. I decided to enhance the colors I saw in his photo. The purple bushes are scrub oak that haven't leafed out yet, so they have a wonderful purple tint to them.

I chose to use the crop that Lee did, it seemed to work the best for me, since I wanted the decaying house in there - but also as much of the light green trees in the middle and the purples in the back. I struggled with the foreground and finally stopped fiddling with it. I just couldn't seem to get to where I wanted with it - probably because I couldn't decide what I wanted it to look like.

Head over to ADNW - there are some very exciting renditions done on this. It's one of those types of images that calls out to the artist to express!

You have managed to play with the beautiful colors of Lee's challenge, which was not so simple and your version of the old barn is very pretty. Thank you again for your visit to my blog

I like your version of this beautiful scene very much. I also struggled with the foreground and someone remarked that it was supposed to be bare to give an idea of expansive prairie. Worked for me. Nice painting, Nan.
