This painting was so much fun to do, and actually painted itself rather easily. Again, you can see I opted for the "shapes" painting, rather than realism. I can remember working so diligently in the past, to try & get the fur looking like fur - it was such a struggle for me, overly preoccupied with the details. Now I step back, without my glasses on, and look - I see shapes instead of just a zillion lines of fur.
Zoe's true color is white, brilliant white with light silver highlights. I needed to play with a bit of color in the painting though, to give a bit more - something, pizazz? depth? How about color! I did work harder at capturing the eyes, nose & mouth though - tried to make them more authentic in color & detail. That's my style it seems, "shapes with a touch or realism." All in all, a fun painting to do - Thanks Lee!

You handled Zoe beautifully, Nancie! I have to admit that all that white rather scares me. Seems like I would leave myself open to numerous flaws that would be so much more easily seen! LOL
What a fantastic job Nancie! I love how he melds into the background.
You captured the sweet little face. Very nice work.
This is really good Nancie. I love that you painted it in your "shapes" style.

Great job. The white fur is such a challenge but you did it. The splashes of pink and yellow are brilliant.
