I've made it back online & back to my painting! My new computer is so wonderful and it's so nice to be "connected again." Like Sherry said, isn't it amazing how dependent we become on our computers!
This is my submission to this months Virtual Paintout - Cape Town, South Africa. What a gorgeous area! I spent so much time scouting around, looking at things, I almost forgot to grab some shots to paint!
I wanted to do something that emphasized their trees, vast land & mountains. Such a vista to look at! This is on Round House road (interesting name) and it actually had a bit of all of that mixed together in the view. The link to the original google spot is here.
I enjoyed painting this, love working with the greens. I hope to look around more in Cape Town and see what else I can find. My in-laws are happy that I am painting South Africa, as that is where they are from. They said they can't wait to see what I find to paint - I hope I did the area justice!

Lovely landscape Nancie. You chose such a beautiful location to paint.Love the greens used.
Beautifully done, Nancie. It really makes me want to follow that path and see where it leads. Maybe to that gorgeous mountain in the background?
Nice one. I love those trees, whatever they are, and the way you painted them.
You've done this so beautifully Nancie! Oh to wield the greens (my favorite color) as perfectly as you do. I must say that I am awed at how realistic your piece is, especially after I check out the link. This is awesome!
Sherry, this is beautiful. I haven't painted my scene for this month yet and this painting has inspired me to do it.
Very dynamic yet well balanced composition. Really draws one in. I like it.
really wonderful! Love the trees and the composition
