This months Virtual Paintout is in Boston, Massachusetts.  Click here for the actual location in google maps.

What a great city to explore - both in person & through Google. It is where the old meets the new - where history stands side by side with today.

I was fortunate enough in the 80's to have spent time in Boston, working at the office that my NY based company had. I spent over a year in that city and thoroughly enjoyed it. Boston is a city that is "not too big, not too small - it's just right." If you have comfortable shoes you will find that you can walk to most places and there is always something to look at. Some piece of history, or some piece of architecture. It's also a great place to people-watch as well, with tourists galore exploring the freedom trail or gardens.

I remember my time there fondly and whenever I get the chance to visit it again, I always have a smile on my face (and in my heart)!

Thanks for sharing the link. I enjoyed seeing the wonderful pieces. This one is wonderful. I'm always intimidated with buildings.

I really like this scene Nancie. It looks like such a restful place and I like how you have the vines meandering through the painting.

Love your little vignette of the doorway in the wonderful old architecture and the great iron street lamps. I can understand your enthusiasm for Boston, its a lovely town.

The greenery is spectacular. Not overly done but so vivid that it really brings the viewer in for a closer look. I've lived and traveled all over the U.S., but somehow I have managed to miss Boston. What a shame!

Nice composition and use of the tree to break up the building's straight lines. Very nice color too!
