Flowering Blue Gum
I did this one for last months Wet Canvas Floral challenge and realize that I never posted it to my blog. The months challenge was flowers from Australia. I am amazed at how different the Aussie flowers are compared to the US. I had never seen a Flowering Gum, so I really had to rely on the reference photo.
It was interesting to work this, to get all those thin petals (is that what they are?) took a lot of going back & forth with 2 brushes - one with dark, the other with light - to try & show them as individuals. It was also a bit time-consuming -- this painting I spent more time on the details than I have in quite a while. Felt good to delve into the lines and not just the shapes. But then again, a line is nothing more than a shape, isn't it!

Très joli travail de précision avec ces fleurs... Le résultat est généreux comme la nature... bravo, toutes mes félicitations. Les nuances de couleurs sont intéressantes et captivantes. Bises
Very interesting! I wouldn't have thought to use two brushes! Duh! I like the black and white with the bright yellow. Nice!
I know it looks like a simple composition, but those petals.. they require a lot patience and skill! Nicely donr Nancie!
