Green Eggs and Hen

Here's a painting of Henrietta, done for the Behind the Scenes blog challenge. The challenge deadline is July 10th, and I don't think anyone's images will be posted too soon before that, as the blog devotes much time to their plein aire paintings excursions. Rather interesting reading when you have a moment, and the photos show the artists with work in progress.

Henrietta's (Celeste is unsure if its a male or female, but Henrietta works for me) photo shows her in a somewhat barnyard environment, but Celeste asked that we make it nicer. She also mentioned that this breed of chicken has pale green eggs, which is why I added them.

The name of this photo is a play on Dr. Suess's title (Green Eggs & Ham) - I just couldn't resist it!

I absolutely love those beautiful green eggs included, Nancie! I just feared this hen, for some reason. I think because I was once attempting a turkey that had similar markings and I just butchered it (no pun intended, seriously). Fabulous job!!
