Coke or Sprite

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This months Virtual Paintout is in Hong Kong. While cruizin' around in Google maps, I found so many places that I wanted to paint or maybe, use part of for a painting. This one is my first submission, which I call "Coke or Sprite." Both drinks are listed in the main overhead sign.

I found this outdoor eatery along Bride's Pool Road (which is a name I find fascinating for a road). The road is very scenic, until you make one turn & around the bend is this travelers stop. All the signs & colors caught my attention & I thought it would make an interesting painting subject.

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet.

This is so wonderful, Nancie. I thought I was looking at a digitized photograph! Well done. Love the colors in the foreground.

Your details are amazing. The chairs alone deserve a standing ovation! Great job.

Nancie, I can't believe I haven't been here before today to congratulate you on this excellent rendering. Love the choice, the angle, the counterpoint of American and Chinese and the road above giving the hint of the topography of this area. The chairs done so well, give this the finished touch. Great piece.
