Streetcar #1059

This may be my final challenge painting for June (unless I get something done in the next 3 days - LOL). This is for the A Day Not Wasted website and the photo reference was a fabulous streetcar image. The original is wider, a landscape version with the entire streetcar visible. It was more painting than I could do right now, but I did want to capture that beautiful red car.

You did this beautifully, Nancie! I love the retro style to this trolley and just wasn't brave enough to attempt it. I think it was the people in the photo that scared me off! LOL I have to be in the right mood to attempt figures.

This is wonderful! You captured the heart of the subject and did it wonderfully! I love how your acrylics have such a fluid movement to them. Much more like an oil painting than I could ever achieve. Your details are great, and I love the leg sticking out of the trolley, it gives the painting motion and a sense of the future!

I think it turned out great! You captured the essence of the original photo without copying it exactly.

You are right, the only head of the streetcar is striking!

This is really interesting take on the concept. I never thought of it that way. I came across this site recently which I think it will be a great use of new ideas and informations.
