I would really like to start my spring paintings, but the scene outside indicates that it is still winter. Snow is everywhere, and they are forecasting a chance for more in the middle of the week. So I have to post a winter scene I did in January, because it pretty much describes how things are now. Anyone who lives where winters can be harsh is familiar with the term "cabin fever" - and it's around this time of year that it sets in for me. I get tired of wearing too many clothes, and I get tired of having hats, scarfs & gloves in tow.
I can tell the very early signs of spring are happening. The bird calls in the morning are sounding different and I'm seeing the smaller birds starting to take claim to certain bird houses I have in the trees. It will be here, soon enough!

This is so pretty, Nancie! I just love snow scenes. I read the comment somewhere recently (blog land) that winter scenes were not popular but I have to say that I love them so much. Maybe it goes back to seeing Currier & Ives prints from when I was little and everything was just so beautiful. Always that sense of community, warmth, and home. I love the nestling that winter brings. I am a huge nestler! LOL
