Twin Arches

"Twin Arches" - Arches National Park, Utah
6x12 acrylic on canvas
Not for sale at this time,
(but email me if you are interested)

The VPO location this month is the state of Utah. The original Google map view for this image can be seen here.

This painting is part of my "Slice of Life" series, which I'm preparing for an upcoming show on October 3rd. I have a variety of paintings at this size (6 x 12) to display, unframed, but mounted on hardboard & ready to hang. The idea is that they will appear to float on the wall, as they will be spaced from the wall & all hardware for hanging will be out of view.

Utah is fascinating - the rock formations are abundant everywhere you look. And I always enjoyed painting rocks! As much as I love to collect them as well. I have a collection of rocks I have found along the shoreline in upstate NY - I have them all gathered in the sheltered peak of the well. There is quite a mixture of color & style, some dull, some shiny. A few sparkle! I know some are quartz but the rest I don't know the "type" of rock - but I do know I like them!

My art show is scheduled for October 3rd (rain date the 4th) - this is the annual Art in the Park event that is held in Paramus NJ. This will be the 3rd year I am participating - looking forward to it. Fingers crossed for good weather, as it is definitely IN the park.
