"Twin Peaks" - NFS
9x12 acrylic on canvas board
This house was a bit of a challenge - painting the bricks so they didn't dominate the painting. I left the roof tops devoid of details so it didn't over-busy the painting. I also removed the neighbors homes & properties and framed this home with the greens. Not that it was missing them, the entire front is their actual landscape.
I thought long & hard of a name for this one, without simply calling it by it's address or house #. And every time I looked at this, I saw the 2 roof peaks - hence the name Twin Peaks (not to be confused with the television series from the past).
One note: the blue on the foundation is not near that blue in the painting. It is a subtle blue-gray. However, my camera loves to over-enhance any blue it sees (the sky is much lighter also).
This is the first of 3 commissions I am working on. The other 2 are not home portraits, but rather new renditions of existing paintings that have sold in the past.
