"Reflecting on the Freedom Tower"
8x10 acrylic on canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction
The Freedom Tower, known now as 1 World Trade, is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. It is not fully completed (inside), and new tenants are not yet moved in. The building has been in the news of late - first there were 4 skydivers who parachuted down to the street from the top (and filmed it entirely). And most recent for a 16 year old boy who was able to sneak his way all the way to the top (past sleeping security guards). As my mother always said, give a person a dare and you give them an idea. The building has been touted as the safest, most secure building in the world -- and so, the dare to climb, sneak & jump was made. I'm quite sure the security will be intense once there are occupants in it full-time.

The story of the parachuters is here: The video they recorded of their jump is posted at the end of the article. It is breathtaking...
