Craft Fair in the Park - SOLD

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Previously painted in 2010,
this painting is now on a 1-week auction at DPW

at a very affordable starting bid!

It's that time of year again! Art shows and Craft Fairs start to dot the calendars. I know I love to go to these, if not to buy then to be inspired. You have to admit, the creative energy is alive at these events.

This painting was done for an annual craft fair that is held in one of the local towns in New Jersey. In fact, it is on the grounds of the Hermitage - an old, historic home & museum. You can see a bit of the history on this house here. During the show they offer tours of the home - it's not a terribly large home, but very interesting within. And rumor has it, it's haunted!

I took numerous pictures while I was there back in 2010, and this one stood out. I loved the 2 women sitting on the bench in the sun & the dappled shade on the grounds. The scene seemed to say "paint me" - so I did!

Artists Note:
I am very happy to say that I've been accepted to be a part of the "Art in the Park" show being held in Van Saun Park (Paramus, NJ). Dates are Oct 12 (rain date Oct 13th). This is strictly a 2-dimensional art show (no crafts). There is judging and cash awards - but to be honest, I am going "to be seen." I've been doing many commissioned home portraits in the area, and I thought it good to get my name (and a sampling of my work) out there. The show is open to only 100 artists, so I'm excited to have gotten into the group - and a bit anxious too. I have a lot to do to get ready!! :)
