Tiger Eyes

Acrylic on 8x10 stretched canvas
Image continued on all 4 sides (1/2 inch)
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This is my submission for the Art Challenge Gallery's "Call of the Wild" challenge. I've had this tiger painting started for some time and knew I had to get back to it, but I was struggling with it. Putting it aside for some time was good - it enabled me to see it with a different set of eyes. And I was able to pick it back up & finish.

This is one of those paintings I had trouble photographing - and I think the original looks better than the photo. The reds are there but not quite as pronounced as they are in the photo and I think that helps to make the eyes pop on this. Lot's of lilacs & purples in this for those of you who like those colors in a painting.

This has been done & sitting on my easel for a week or so. Every time I walk into the room I get the feeling that someone is watching me. No, I don't think the eyes move as I walk across the room - at least, I don't think they do! LOL!

Leaving the painting for a while makes you look at it with a fresh eye. I love this tiger very much. His eyes are gorgeous Nan!
