Snowball Bush

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

My neighbors purple snowmobile bush is again blooming. I love these full bodied flowers, and his variety is this deep, dark blue-purple that is so unique. Most of the others in the neighborhood are this vivid true-blue. His stand out - plus they bloom a bit later that the other varieties. Gives them the chance to be center stage by themselves.

This painting is up for auction. It's a popular one and will not last long - it has been viewed numerous times. So head over to bid before it's gone!

Are they hydrangeas, Nancie? Love the rich greens and purples against the dark background? (I've not heard of a snowball bush and wondered if it is another term for hydrangeas.)

Thanks Sherry. Yes, hydrangeas. Snowball bush is another name - what I always called them as a child. They are one of my favorites!
