Blue Door

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This is my second submission for this months Virtual Paintout in Bulgaria. Here is the link to the google view. I painted this one very loose - almost adopting a watercolor technique, especially in the snow. Rather than bog down with the details, I tried to keep it fluid & simply add strokes. I want to do more in this style. I have found it much easier to achieve a watercolor look with acrylics, than an oil paint look. But I do still intend to try the Goldens or Interactive Acrylics - that may let me do thicker strokes & more blending (since they do not dry so fast).

As far as the places I've found in Bulgaria - I have found more doors in this country that are painted a bold color to stand out. Sort of makes me want to do a series of them - may just do so.
