Liberty - SOLD

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas panel
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Lady Liberty, that is. This is my submission to last weeks DPW challenge to paint a statue. I was trying to decide what statue to paint - there are so many in the NY area. Took a walk one lunch hour and could see Lady Liberty - and I knew what to paint.

What a lovely palette, Nancie! A great choice to paint too!

Thank you Karla & Sherry. I had fun painting this, and chose to add blue to the statue and then make the sky yellow. I love the old green patina on a statue, but really felt the blue shadows made it a bit more interesting.
