30 in 30 - Day 24 - Winter Barn - SOLD

Acrylic on 8x10 stretched canvas
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Winter Barn is another Christmas card inspired painting. I just love using red in a winter scene - it just jumps out at you. The falling snow was handled by dipping a toothpick into a thin'ish white paint, then dotting on the flakes in random spots. Looks sort of festive I think, and adds to the mood (the original card did not have snow. And I eliminated the assorted decorations of trees, lights & wreaths!)

What a beautiful setting! The stones for the base of the barn are fabulous and you've indeed got a wonderful Christmas card piece in this one!!
