Amber waves of Grain

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

I don't really have a story to go with this painting. I painted it back in 2010 for a challenge, I believe. I just liked the image, enough to paint it, but don't really have a personal connection to the location. I liked how the image had 3 levels - each with it's own color palette. The sky, with it's blue & white, as background, the greens of the fields in the middle, and the light, earth colors of the foreground grasses & reeds. This probably breaks every rule of "good painting composition" - but, I have to say, I like the painting as it is!

I like it too, Nancie. I was just reading one of my books and the author says rules schules. Made to be broken when it comes to art.
