Brooklyn Bridge -SOLD

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Somedays, on my lunch break, I go out and walk over near the Brooklyn Bridge. It's an amazing bridge, beautiful architecture, as it stands tall & stretches across the river towards Brooklyn.

A little bit of history about the bridge, taken from Wikipedia (read the entire piece by clicking here):

The Brooklyn Bridge is a bridge in New York City and is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Completed in 1883, it connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River. With a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 m), it was the longest suspension bridge in the world from its opening until 1903, and the first steel-wire suspension bridge.

My walks near the bridge are never boring. The river is busy with it's daily traffic and sightseeing boats, and assorted helicopters fly overhead - both business taxi's and sightseeing. The area, which is not far from the Southstreet Seaport, is usually busy with tourists - many taking pictures of the bridge.

It's a great place to walk on a nice, summer afternoon - breeze in your hair. A great place to forget the worries of the day, of the times - and just feel the sun on your face. Guaranteed to make you smile.

Nan, I haven't visited in a while, and wow! Your NYC paintings are wonderful! And I love reading your commentary. Your part of the world is so different from mine.

This painting of the bridge is great! I love the perspective, with the city in the background. Great job!

Nancy, I love how you've captured the grittiness of the city and yet the majesty of this iconic bridge. A perfectly glorious painting and I love your description of your walks.
