Ratpakinai Road

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This is my submission to this months VPO, which is Thailand. The original Google view can be seen here

I have a passion for street scenes ... busy street scenes. I refer to them as my "cityscapes" - as I love to paint the cities. And Google maps makes it easy to explore the cities of the world. What do I love about this street scene? The colors, the shapes, the shadows, the bicycles -- everything. Even with only 2 people in the scene, it has energy!

Nan, I love how you never shy away from a challenge. I've never managed a busy scene like this and you always handle them so exquisitely. You did an amazing job here!

I agree with Sherry. There is no way I would tackle something so detailed but you did a great job. I haven't been painting for the Virtual Paintout lately but maybe it's time to try again. This looks interesting.

Thanks Sherry & Nancy, appreciate your comments. Nancy - it may very well be a good time to try a VPO painting again, Thailand's an interesting place to roam around.
