Apples 1

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Previously painted in November of 2010, these apples were a challenge from a blog called Studio Atelier. That particular blog is no longer active, which is a shame, as it had many interesting challenges. In this case, the photo uploaded for reference had two separate small groups of apples in a single photo. We had the choice of painting one, or both, in our composition. I chose to actually do 2 separate paintings (the other of which I will post the next day).

This first one is a horizontal painting where the reflections of the apples on the shiny surface are as important as the apples themselves.

Un merveilleux travail dans les reflets... Des pommes qu'on voudrait bien croquer.
Gros bisous

A beauty of a piece and just perfect for someone who has an apple themed kitchen! Great job on those reflections, Nan.

Hi Nan, just wanted to say that Studio Atelier is alive and well, and Barb is still posting challenges at Studioatelier.blogspot.com
