Hanging the Laundry - SOLD

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

My second submission for this months VPO excursion to Gdansk, Poland. You can see the original Google view here

There was so much that I really liked in this view, I had to paint it. The laundry for one, along with the woman in action, the backdrop of the houses and the large Sumac tree. Not to mention the 2 adorable little black cats - did you spot them on the left at the bottom of the shrub? You will probably notice them more in the Google view than the painting, but I did put their presence in.

I was going to comment that you find such unusual scenes and turn them into such nice paintings - then I scrolled down to the scene with the dog, and WOW! so sad... maybe he is just laying down for a rest. I hope he is alright in any case.

This is the second post I've read this morning in which a poor dog has been mistreated and hurt. My heart breaks for these innocent animals who have done nothing but be what God created them to be.

Your painting is lovely and I like your eye for these types of paintings. I think of the Central Park scene that I have...every day life types of scenes.

I really like this painting Nan. I always like scenes with laundry. They are so soothing for some reason.

It was upsetting to see the pictures of the dog. I hope he wasn't hit.

Thanks all. I do love to look around for the "every day" scenes when I paint, especially with the Google maps. Although sometimes, the Google views are blocked or at an odd angle - making it a bit tough to paint.

I also hope the dog is ok. I was so upset when I found these images, it kind of took the fun out of painting Gdansk Poland.
