Left To Rust

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

This painting was done in January of 2010 for a Wet Canvas monthly acrylic challenge. I worked on this one for some time, trying to get those tones of "rust" as correct as possible. There is also the subtle reflections on the fenders, the glass in the 1 headlight, and only in 1 fender light. Plus the greens surrounding it all created lots of challenges with this one. But I am rather happy with the outcome.

Vous avez parfaitement réussi la couleur rouille de ce joli taco... En peignant cette voiture vous lui avez redonné une seconde vie... elle semble nous scruter avec ses "grands yeux" !!!
gros bisous

Well you should be happy with the outcome, Nan. This is fabulous. I really love paintings that have old cars and trucks in them. This one makes me slightly sad that this gem of a car has been left to ruin in the field. What a treasure!

I like this rusted "face", its round eyes, wide nose and mustache. painting with character.

Thank you! I never really saw the "face" until you pointed it out Irina. You are absolutely right, all the characters of the face are there!
