Cold Winter Morning

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

We haven't had any snow as of yet, except for some back in October. But the calendar says it's winter and I thought it best to paint winter. Maybe it'll keep the snow at bay a bit longer.

Not that I mind it entirely, I just don't mind it being late this year. But I love when the snow hangs in the trees and covers the landscape. The winter greys are washed clean by the snow, and only the shadows show just how cold it is.

You've captured that perfect cold & crisp sky, Nan. And your colors for showing shadow in the snow are marvelous! I too love the prettiness of snow. We haven't had much either yet this year, though I do see it says it is only 11 degrees outside. Brrrrrrrrrrr......

Wow, looks and feels so cold! I recognize crisp winter sky of special blue color. Good work!
How is your version of the Rookiepainters' folds is going?

Love the cobalt sky against the blue and purple shadows in the snow.
