Leaves in Black & White

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

From May of this year, this was a value study done in black & white. I found this most enlightening (no pun intended) in regards to light & shadows. With the absence of color, I could spend more time on my highlights and darks.  I do rather like the final effect.

It is lovely, Nan. I've only done one black & white painting, but it is one of my faves.

Hope you are having a wonderful holiday and that next year will be full of more paintings for us to enjoy. Like the drama of the color contrasts and the overall effects.
