Hillside Snow

Acrylic on 9x12 canvas sheet
Available through DPW gallery/auction

Originally painted in February of 2010, this snowy hillside is a very familiar sight to snowmobilers. I love when we ride the trails and find these spots tucked away in the woods, in an area that is sporadically populated by houses, and where there are no roads or cars. It is there that you'll see the trees as they march up the sides of the mountains, snow clinging to their needles, and their shadows that are almost dancing when the wind blows. Granted, winter can be cold - so very cold that the thought of going outside seems too severe. But winter can be so beautiful, so clean & crisp - a photograph around almost every turn.

Bien que je n'aime pas l'hiver, je dois reconnaître que la neige offre un bien beau spectacle parfois... comme celui de votre peinture que vous avez délicieusement peint... la magie de l'hiver opère...
Gros bisous

Yikes! I'm not seeing my comments appear. I commented on the last piece...

Anyway, this is just so beautiful, Nancie! I love the pines and I actually have seen at least two backyards with this high slope at the end of the property. I love it!
