CANDY STRIPES - Original for Sale

It's a new year and a new approach to art! With the help (& much needed push) of Alice over at Calypso Moon Artist blog, I am starting to take the plunge to sell some of my original art. This was also a personal resolution I made for the new year, before Alice announced the challenge, so it was perfect timing.

We had the option to setup either an eBay account,  an etsy account or on our own website/blog. Being an eBay buyer for many years, I was a bit familiar with the eBay setup - and I already have a PayPal account (never sold on eBay, only bought). I didn't want to monitor an auction or start a new account with Etsy. Instead, I made a 2nd blog - very similar to this one - with a link to it. (There is a link to click at the top of the right hand column on this blog). The title of this post is also a link to the new blog. With time, I plan to go back through some of my art & post more for sale. I am wrestling with how best to handle the art I've done on canvas sheets. I suppose they could be sold as is, with the buyer taking on the task to matt & frame. But I'm thinking of matting them myself - it gives it a much nicer presentation. Perhaps I will offer 2 different prices, one with matting & one without. Food for thought.........

These pink flowers were grown in my garden a few summers back, and I loved the variations in the pinks within them. I have painted this image 3 times now - each one is different from the others - and it's interesting to see how your style of painting changes with time.

This is acrylic on an 8x10 stretched canvas, gallery edged, with the image extended onto all 4 sides. It can hang as is or be framed - it is being sold without a frame.

Lovely! I am in love with the shades of pink and almost purple in these flowers! One suggestion, not for the painting but for the link to your other blogsite. With all of your other links and thumbnails to other sites, I think people could easily miss the link you have on the right. Maybe add a slideshow of your work to the link? Or make it bigger or something? I know blogger has only limited link choices in their gadget list, but maybe you can figure something out. Your work is too good, and you have too many followers not to have a site that people can see and go buy your gorgeous work!

Thank you all for you comments & well wishes!

Paula - I totally agree with you about the link. I was so disappointed in the options for link choices. I thought of making my own "logo" for it & using it as a link. But the slideshow may work too. Thank you for the vote of confidence.
