Three Little Figs - SOLD

Paint and Draw together gave these 3 figs as a recent challenge. The photo had wonderful colors in the figs and I wanted to play up those colors somewhat in the painting. I chose to go the more impressionistic route which gave me the chance to insert the spots & slashes of color. I did the same with the table that the figs are sitting on. Then threw the entire image into a different lighting with the dark shadows on the figs & table along with the dark background.

I rather like the final look. It's been called dramatic, but also striking - so I think I hit my mark with this one.  So much fun to go outside of the box when rendering simple items.

Nancie, this is such a rich piece! I'm not sure why, but it makes me think of the VerMeer era of painting...

Nancie, this is very dramatic and I like what you've done with punching up the colors.

I think I missed this one in the postings at "PADT". Very eyecatching and striking as well!
